The Southern Upland WayThe Southern Upland Way, Scotland’s coast to coast, stretches 212 miles from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath. Crossing Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders, this challenging LDR passes through vast open countryside amongst some of Scotland’s most dramatic and unspoilt scenery. Distances The Chlenry Bed and Breakfast is situated just 14 miles inland from Portpatrick, directly on and at the end of the first section at Castle Kennedy providing a warm welcome and a comfortable stay with excellent meals. The next day’s walking to New Luce is some 8.5 miles. Facilities We have been providing shelter for walkers for many years and are accustomed to their needs. We can provide drying facilities and packed lunches. Many walkers traversing the route will find an abundance of ‘showers’ both from the elements and provided in their rooms at the many excellent locations, however, we can boast the LARGEST baths across the entire route. Vehicle Support Many walkers base themselves at the Chlenry for two or three nights taking advantage of vehicle support provided by ourselves or local taxi. This illuminates the need for constantly packing bags and paying luggage transfer fees.
